im not sure if this goes under 'environment' i apologize if this is the wrong place
This is mainly a point for a small part of the town.
The owner of the former church on south park road applied for permision to turn it into 16 flats last year, which was rightly refused. However earlier this year they re-applied and not many resident knew about this and planning permission was granted. There are some concerns over overlooked properties but while i feel it is a valuable point, my main concern is with parking. Anyone who knows the area around the former church will know that parking is already strained. When the planning was submitted the highways officer stated it would be unsafe for that amount of vehicles to be parked in the area. The area is already utilising 95% of the parking and many of the residents are elderly without cars, in ten years time when a new generation of people are living in the houses , most of which will have at least one car, the area will be overflowing with cars, and that is without the extra 20+ cars wanted by these 16 apartments. Unfortunatly there is no third party right to appeal so the best chance to get it refused is to find fault with the planning procedures or find a legal technicaltiy.
